Lauren sighed as she tried to get her mind to stop rushing so she could work on homework. She has a hand on her head as she looked at what she was supposed to do for a charms essay. There wasn't even one word that she could think of to start it, and that wasn't like her at all. She had always been good at figuring out how to do essays, but right now it all was a blur. There was a bunch of crumpled up pieces of parchment due to this, and her trunk sat by the couch she was working on. "Dang it..." The sixth year said, as she managed to put too much pressure on her quill, making it break. It also put a hole in the parchment that she was working. "That's just brilliant." Her voice was filled with sarcasm, and you could tell that she was not having a good time with this at all. It looked like that she could have an emotional break down, and start screaming at people like Molly Weasley did sometimes for the littlest things.
"Stop that!" She yelled at a fairly innocent looking first year girl that was just clicking her tongue. She quickly took off, and then sighed. Lauren needed to relax. This wasn't a big deal, was it? The sixth year relaxed her mind a little bit, though she was still angry. She didn't need to put her anger out on other people, that would be just wrong. With that she started writing after getting another quill out, and she looked over the first paragraph that she wrote of her essay. It looked pitiful, but that was the best that she could do at that moment. She let out a sigh knowing that her mark in the class would go down some because of this, and she kept writing it. The fire was cracking just slightly, and a lot of the Gryffindors had decided to leave due to her uproar. It was just as well, since she needed to get this done, or she would be getting an even lower mark than what she would if she turned in the crappy thing.

we're chasing stars to lose our shadows peter pan and wendy turned out fine - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - george was not having a good day. he'd been noting lauren earlier but something he'd said had upset her. their note session had ended abruptly with her saying 'just forget it. i'll see you later'. and that was a bad sign from a willis, he knew that much. then, because that was weighing so much on his mind, he'd accidently transfigured lee jordan's nose into a pencil sharpener instead of the beaver he was supposed to be changing. he hadn't seen lauren at dinner; he'd steered clear of her, still trying to figure out what he'd done so wrong. george had just got out of detention with mcgonagall (on account of the nose into sharpener thing.) now he was walking up the stairs to the gryffindor tower. he swore loudly as the staircase he needed to be on swung out of the way. the redhead stood there impatiently, waiting for the damned staircase to come back. a nervous first year stood beside him, ocassionally glancing up at him. "yes, i'm george weasley, one of the best pranksters hogwarts has ever seen. now will you please stop staring?"
he said in a rather irritated tone to the little girl. she blushed furiously, muttering an apology he couldn't make out. at last the stairs came back and he ran up them, quickly saying the password and hopping on his feet as he waited for the portrait hole to swing open. when it did he practically dove in as such was his haste. why was he in a hurry? well, he needed to find lauren for one. and he didn't fancy getting copped by ron for being out late. george stepped into the common room just in time to hear a voice shouting. a very familiar voice. george sighed in relief but he was now really worried. lauren was angry and that wasn't good. she could get like his mother sometimes, if she was furious enough. george waited a moment, watching everyone scatter away. he couldn't help but grin at that - laur's shouts were starting to have the same reaction as his mother's did on people. george quickly wiped the smile from his face as he cautiously walked towards the fire, where laur was. he certainly didn't want her snapping at him. things were awkward enough, on account of the letters. george carefully settled onto the couch beside her. "hey..." he said awkwardly, a slight smile on his face. hardest part over. now, to wait for a) a simple hi back, b) a torrade of shouting, c) silence or d) a start to why she was upset with him. he would be most comfortable with d, although there was no telling what she would do. She sighed looking at her paper and then seeing George there. She jumped just a little bit before relaxing a little bit. "Sorry. I am just a bit jumpy today." The girl said with a slight bit of nervousness in her voice. Lauren was more than aware that the notes had not gone well, and that made her have a knot in her stomach. It was doomed to be a little bit awkward from the start, since they were best friends, and she had just suddenly closed like that. "I know that you probably want to know why I am being off, but it is stupid." The voice seemed to be disappointed in how much of a big deal she had made it. "I guess it's not a big deal... and I shouldn't have screamed at that first year..." After that she looked down, and wrote a bit on her parchment, before putting it away in the truck. She was betting that he had a lot of questions, like what the heck was going on through her head that had made her like that.
Lauren started throwing the crumpled up pieces of parchment into the fire, and then looked over at George once again. "I was trying to help you George, and you just couldn't figure it out, and you sounded like you were taking the whole thing like it was a joke." She said, sounding sad and disappointed about what had happened with the notes. "I just want you to figure it out, because I do want you to be happy." Lauren looked around slightly, making sure that no one else was really there. She really didn't want people overhearing this at all. She wasn't in the mood to deal with people spreading stuff around. "But I guess I am sorry for it... I guess it was a mistake..." The sixth year told him honestly, and looked into the fire, and the thing crackled as it started to burn the parchment that she had thrown into it. All that time that she had been wasting on one essay. How lame was she anyways?

we're chasing stars to lose our shadows peter pan and wendy turned out fine - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - george watched as lauren jumped before apologising and saying that she was jumpy. thank god she wasn't giving him the silent treatment but he was shocked at what she said next. "I know that you probably want to know why I am being off, but it is stupid."
george's heary couldn't help but sink at her words. he'd never heard her talk like that - it was much worse than his mother's shouting. she sounded so disappointed, it was unbelievable. george fixed his blue eyes on her as she spoke next. she said it wasn't a big deal. it obviously was. george opened his mouth to speak but decided against it. she crumpled up her homework then began throwing it into the fire. as he watched the parchment curling as the flames licked at it and began to devour it, george was trying to think of something to say to lauren. it would have been much easier if she had just yelled at him - he was used to that. but this... this was much worse. when lauren looked back at him, george was looking back at her, his pale blue eyes filled with a kind of sorrowful pain. when she spoke it was like a blow in his stomach. "I was trying to help you George, and you just couldn't figure it out, and you sounded like you were taking the whole thing like it was a joke." he bit his lip at that. sometimes, when he felt insecure he would use humour where it wasn't needed to make himself feel more comfortable. lauren then spoke about her wanting him to work it out as she wanted him to be happy. that message was confusing. "lauren,-" he began, voice cracking slightly as she spoke "i'm sorry if it sounded like i was joking. i'm really sorry. it's just like... a defence mechanism." he kept his gaze on lauren, trying to get across how much he was sorry for this. when she spoke next it was like a final blow. now she was pretty much calling herself an idiot and saying that it was her mistake. george did not want her to feel like she did. he moved closer to her and took her hands in his, keeping his eyes fixed on hers. "no. it's not a mistake. it's my mistake. i was being stupid, acting like all this is a joke. i know that i've hurt you and i really, really regret that," he said forcefully and with true emotion. he remained in his position, waiting for what lauren was going to say next. Lauren heard his responses, and she couldn't help but sigh. She knew that he still had no idea what was going on since he had not commented on one of the things that she had said. This was going to not be easy at all. "You don't need to be sorry it is part of who you are as a person." That was a simple statement that she knew had a lot of power. She knew that George probably was just worrying about it because he was her best friend. That was the only reason. There was no magical thing to it, that was all it was. "We all regret things don't we?" The sixth year then looked into the fire, and knew that she was trying to go somewhere with this, but she was not sure where she was going to go. "I guess we are both at fault, because I didn't flat out tell you the truth... ...and I don't think I can even now." It was hard for her to be honest about this, because she knew there were consequences, ones that was not sure if she was ready to face or not.
"I lied to you... ...at least some... ...when I was talking to you." Lauren looked down at the ground, and knew that would not get the best reaction out of him. But, what else was she do to? One of the issues she had with the truth was how her other best friend, Fred Weasley, would react to all this. Both Fred and George had been best friends with her since her first year at Hogwarts, and she didn't want to ruin that. It was one of her greatest fears. Along with that, was the fact that she didn't know how the other members of the Weasley family would react. Well, besides Molly Weasley, she would probably flip and make everything worse. "I do know who the person is... ...and she isn't just some casual friend or anything like that... ...well she..." 'Is me.' She thought in her head, but she didn't say it out loud, she couldn't say it, and it was just too hard. Lauren knew that this would be too hard for her to just say. The girl had known that ever since it had all been over, and she had been sitting down studying right after she had gone to the ball. She just didn't know that it would get this bad at all.

we're chasing stars to lose our shadows peter pan and wendy turned out fine - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - george couldn't help but be a little confused when lauren sighed. somethnig was obviously still bugging her. he just wished he knew what. then she said about how she shouldn't be sorry as it was part of who he was. she just had to say that. george was now wishing it wasn't part of him because it had upset her so much. he didn't know what to say so he said nothing as she said about how we all regretted things. he knew that she was going to say something and removed his hands from hers, resting them on the back of the sofa. "I guess we are both at fault, because I didn't flat out tell you the truth... ...and I don't think I can even now."
now his absolute full attention was on her, if it wasn't before. so, she had.. lied? he really hoped that she hadn't. they'd got past that years ago. but his fears were confirmed when she admitted that she had been lying to him. at least it wasn't all lies, that was something. but he was still shocked that she had lied to him. that really got him. george had thought - really thought - that they were that kind of best friend that didn't lie to each other. although he wanted to speak george remained silent. he knew that if he spoke he would probably stop her from saying what she needed to say. it was obviously hard for her - he could see that. george made sure that he kept his eyes on her, so she knew that he was listening. this was a big deal for lauren as he could tell. "I do know who the person is... ...and she isn't just some casual friend or anything like that... ...well she..." and suddenly everything became clear. the girl at the ball, the dancing, the hints. oh, the endless hints she had given him. and he had not read them. what an idiot he was. george didn't show any signs of shock but just looked at her. "is you," he said simply and slowly. he was still getting used to it in his mind. okay, so lauren liked him. liked him enough to kiss him. woah. was he okay with that? surprisingly so. of course, it was a little strange to have his best friend thinking about him in that way but... he was okay with it. and maybe he was starting to think about lauren in that way... She heard what George said echoed her thoughts, and she looked over at him, wondering what would happen now. Anything could happen, because she no longer had power over any of this. Which sort of worried her. Lauren was always the type that wanted a grip on things, to be able to handle things on her own. But, this was something that she had no power over. "Yes... it was me... and once you have that figured out I guess it is very easy to figure out the other part." It was simple, but the words needed to be said, and she looked over at the window and just noticed the pattering of the rain, because before she had been too deep on the conversation. The pieces of paper that had been thrown into the fire were nothing more than ashes, and there was a quiet rain outside of the window. It calmed her just slightly, because she had always liked the rain when it was just raining outside and nothing more. Lighting and thunder usually made her jump. Which would just be pretty lame at the moment.
"I know that your mum's gonna freak." She smiled dimly at the thought of their mother hearing about this. The results would not be good, she knew that much. The sixth year didn't get what her issue was, but knew that it had to do with the fact that she acted like her father at times. But, that wasn't all bad at all, in fact he had saved Lupin and also saved Sirius and James from trouble. As far as the other Weasleys went, she had no idea. Other than their mother though, she was very worried about Fred. "What is Fred going to think?" This all had been on her mind this whole time, and she had really been trying to get along with the Weasley family in order to be accepted. That's why when she was at the Order meeting place in the summer she tried to help Molly, to Molly's dismay. After that all she heard was silence, and the rain pattering softly on the windows.

"Yes... it was me... and once you have that figured out I guess it is very easy to figure out the other part." george nodded, still trying to get round the idea in his mind. it was starting to make sense in his head now. as he heard the rain pattering down he began to feel calmer. he loved rain; it soothed him and his mind. at least there wasn't a storm - the whole idea of lightning made him feel sick, to be honest. "I know that your mum's gonna freak."
despite the uneasy atmosphere, george couldn't help but laugh at that. his mother would definitely freak. "yeah, she'll freak but that's no shock. she freaks if we go downstairs without any socks on," he replied with a smile. molly weasley was a force to be reckoned with, that was for sure. but he was sure that laur could deal with her. george knew that his father wouldn't really mind. he was busy with work and probably wouldn't even notice. so his parents weren't really that much of a problem. however, percy would start grilling him with questions and advice. god, he was such an obnoxious idiot. when lauren next spoke she voiced exactly waht he was thinking. what would fred think? fred was his twin, but not just that. he was everything. how would he react? the three - george, fred and laur - had been best friends since first year but this would change everything. and if they decided to... date then it would ruin everything. it all depended on how fred handled it. "well," he said slowly, "fred will probably be a bit freaked out but i'm sure he'll be fine once he's got used to it," he reasoned. the rain continued to pour down but as of yet there was no thunder or lightning. george's eyes crept over to the fire as he watched the embers crackle. the fire would die out soon, but not yet. "I remember that..." She said and then laughed a bit remembering when Molly freaked out at the twins for not wearing socks. Lauren also remembered her father just shrugging and ignoring it. That was why her father was cool for the most part, he took things in stride. She thought on Fred as he spoke what he felt would be probably what would happen. "Yeah... probably." The sixth year still sounded unsteady about it, but she knew that they needed to keep on in that hopeful direction. "Percy is gonna try to talk your ears off. But, we knew that he probably would react that way. That is just his typical self." The girl mused, and knew that Percy was one of the most annoying people on the face of the Earth in her mind. It was a wonder how Percy could even stand the thought of the Weasley twins being best friends with her, and she could bet the only reason he tolerated it was because someone told him to.
"What do you think we should do?" This was the prime question now that all the confusion was out of the way. What were they going to do next? Of course, there were endless possibilities, and they could take it whatever direction they felt was right. But, she wanted it to be up to George. She knew that she wanted them to get together at one point and then do all that cheesey stuff. Lauren wasn't sure what George wanted to do though, so that was why she was going to leave it to him. "It is completely up to you." The tapping of the rain between her words were nice, and she just enjoyed that it was a peaceful type of rain. Most people though, were probably asleep and didn't hear it. It was too bad that they could not, it was something that seemed to comfort her. The fire was starting to fade away completely. But, that was typical for around this time.

george laughed along with laur as they both remembered the time when molly had yelled at him and fred for walking down the stairs bare footed. his mother could really be uptight sometimes. that was how his and lauren's families were different. his mother shouted at the littlest thing but laur's father was calm and he'd never heard him shout. george nodded as laur said about how fred would probably react. it could go a lot worse but they had to remain hopeful about it. who knew, maybe positive thinking would pay of in the end? oh great, now he was starting to sound like trewlany. and they all knew that she was a loony. "Percy is gonna try to talk your ears off. But, we knew that he probably would react that way. That is just his typical self."
george laughed, almost hearing percy's 'advice' and endless talking. "he only tolerates you because dad told him he had to or he wouldn't let him see his girlfriend anymore," he laughed. everyone knew that percy was a git who always thought he knew best. her next question was the big one. what would they do next? he knew that laur had obviously liked him for a long time. they could just stay friends but somehow this didn't feel right. there was one thing they could do that he knew would change everything as they knew it but held some good points. well, lots of good points, actually. when lauren said that it was completely up to him his mind was made up. "we could always, you know, try out the whole dating thing. and if it doesn't work out we'll just be friends. but i think it'll work out," he suggested with a smile. he was willing to try and date, although he'd never done it before. Lauren shook her head and laughed with his hearing his comment about Percy and his girlfriend. She knew that those two were one of the weirdest couples in the world in her mind, and that would always be sure. "At least my brother is not a Percy." She said rather relieved that her brother hadn't turned into a complete Percy, and didn't take points away from her. Actually, Xavier was nice to a lot of people now that she thought about it. Except Slytherins of course, but that was something that he had built into himself over the years. The Willis family seemed to take things a lot differently than the Weasley family did, but that was no surprise at all. "My brother is still stuck in his books sadly..." She thought about the fact that her brother felt so much pressure from the two older siblings that made it through things without much effort. Lauren honestly felt that pressure was what was causing him to have such a hard with him his magic.
Once she heard what he thought they should do, she nodded a bit. She was grinning on the inside, but she was trying to be calm and sensible. "I would like that." The sixth year wondered how fast this would go around, and how her brother Xavier would react once he found this out. It probably would be a very mixed result, as for Dylan she was unsure. He seemed to be too deep into his studies to pay attention to anything. It was sad really. "We probably shouldn't take it too fast though. Be steady with it." She suggested, and liked having something that she could just relax and go through without having to rush at everything. They could go at their own pace and try to enjoy the time that that had together. "Oh, and I have a rule. No Madam Puddiefoot's I hate it there with a fiery passion. The first time I went in there I wanted to die." This probably would relieve him, because she knew that so many girls were obsessed with that disgusting place that was overloaded with pink, red, and white.

we're chasing stars to lose our shadows peter pan and wendy turned out fine - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - george smiled as laur commented about being glad that her brother wasn't a percy. xavier was actually a good, fair head boy, he had to admit. george didn't have much of a liking of laur's brother but tried to get on with him. when she said about her brother being stuck in his books he nodded silently. everytime he'd seen dylan in the corridors he had his head buried in a book. "he needs to get out more,"
he commented quietly. when george saw lauren nod after he'd put across his idea he couldn't help but laugh. she was obviously overjoyed but she wasn't showing it. she probably didn't want to go over the top and make a scene. "I would like that." she said. george simply smiled, quietly wondering what xavier would make of the matter. he knew that lauren's brother was protective of her. but really, what threat was he? when she suggested that they should take it slowly he nodded in agreement. he was new to dating and didn't want to race through things. plus, if they took it slowly xavier might not notice. "Oh, and I have a rule. No Madam Puddiefoot's I hate it there with a fiery passion. The first time I went in there I wanted to die." george grinned widely at that. "oh, thank god for that. the world would be better without that place," he commented with a look of relief in his eyes. seriously, he hated the fluffy pink teashop. once, on the first time they were allowed to hogsmeade, he and fred had accidently walked in there. and ran outside straight away to be sick. yeah, it would not be pretty if that happened again. "right, the three broomsticks in and madam puddiefoot's out?" he laughed. george was deeply relieved that laur didn't like madam puddiefoot's - it was a guy's wish come true. She smiled, being really glad that they were coming to an agreement on all of these things. Her mind was at ease, and she could probably handle homework and other such things now. "That is right. The Three Broomsticks is better anyways." After that Lauren laughed a little bit, and saw that the fire had finally gone out and muttered lumos under her breath and her wand lit up so they could ahve some light. It was probably ridiculously late, but she didn't really care at that moment. She was with George and they had finally figured each other out. "So, should we tell them what is going on?" That was the next hurtle. Who were they going to tell? And, who would they tell first? Of course, it would have to be all the people that were close to them first. But, the exact order of these people she was unsure of. It would be a challenge, she knew that much.
"We need to get to all of the people that are close to us at least." Lauren knew that this was going to be interesting, to say the least. Her brother Xavier would probably flip at first at the idea, and the Weasleys, well that was up to George to figure out probably. "Should we go by family. Like I tell mine, you tell yours type of thing?" She thought that it would be best for them to talk to their families personally, rather than have the other go to them and try to explain it. Yes, the reaction would be strange, but they would be able to figure things out better with their own family members anyways. "Addy will probably want to know too..." The unoffical fourth member of the group, Addy or one of her other friends was going to want to know every little detail about what happened and how they got together and all that. Part of her would think that it was fun, another part of her would think that it was obixous, to say the least.

we're chasing stars to lose our shadows peter pan and wendy turned out fine - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - george smiled in relief as laur said that it was correct and that the three broomsticks was better. she was definitely right. he was sure that he would fall unconscious or something if he went to madam puddifoot's again. and it wouldn't really be a good thing to do, fainting in the middle of the pinkness. someone might start fanning him with a pink perfumed fan. oh, horror of all horrors. then laur's voice shook him out of his nightmare - "So, should we tell them what is going on?"
the next problem. george nodded, knowing that that was the right thing to do. even so, he wasn't looking forward to it. he knew that bill and charlie wouldn't really care. percy was a problem - he would try and talk his ears off with 'advice'. his father would be another easy one. he wasn't sure how ginny or ron would take it. of course, fred would be a difficult one. but it was his mother he was most worried about. he nodded when she said that they should tell the ones close to them. that meant his family. "Should we go by family. Like I tell mine, you tell yours type of thing?" he groaned at that. "do i have too?" he mock moaned, with a grin. he wasn't looking forward to it. well, not telling his mother, anyway. when she said about addy wanting to know about it he nodded. addy would want to know everything - that was just how girls were. "sure, you tell all your girlfriends. and i'll tell my pillow," he replied with a smile. he didn't really have many close friends he'd want to tell about this, quite frankly. george looked at the sky outside. he knew it was late and he would probably not get upon time in the morning but he didn't care. he was in his first relationship and he didn't care about anything else right now. She laughed a bit hearing George's pretend groan. Her eyes were sparkling a bit, and she was in a good mood, you could tell that much. "Of course you do." She said and then stuck out her tongue at him like an immature little child. Yet another bit of laughter was let out when he told her to tell her girlfriends while he told his pillow. There was a change, she felt more relaxed and like she could handle all the jokes that were thrown at him. "Just make sure the pillow doesn't get jealous George." Lauren said jokingly, and grinned at the thought of something like that. She could actually see it now, George talking about it all with his pillow, and his pillow suddenly speaking and tell him how angry it was for him being with a girl without even considering its feelings.
Lauren seemed to be more awake then ever, but she knew that they needed to get some sleep. "We should probably get some sleep... or the horrible dention monsters will get us ten fold." She said, commenting about the professors that probably would not be happy at them for being late to class. "I am sure we will have more than enough time to hang out with each other." This was true since they had classes together and that they also hanged out at meal times and during the week ends. The sixth year didn't leave quite yet though, making sure that everything was under control before leaving. There would be a lot of stuff going on after that to say the least. Hopefully, George's mother Molly wouldn't send her a Howler before all this was said and done. But, it could very possibly happen.
