Mornings had never been Elisa's forte, but due to the fact that she had woken from a night mare she decided to wake up anyways. She'd been having nightmares every night for the past few months. It was usually the same thing and as she sat up in her four poster bed, she reluctantly recalled it.
"Elisa! Run, Elisa! They'll kill you!" her father had shouted through the glass wall containing him. He had dark circles under his eyes and places where his hair had been ripped out. It was a terrifying sight to behold, especially if you knew him when he was handsome and well, sane. Elisa missed her father when he was like that. Unfortunately, the death of her mother had changed everything about him and made him exceptionally paranoid. He wanted nothing more then to catch and kill the men who had taken his wife's life. Seeing her father like this made her break down in tears and she began to scratch at her wrist. It was a habit that she had picked up when she was nervous. Still crying, she was led down a hall and all the other patients leapt at the walls, saying things like, "Hey pretty pretty," or "I'll see you in hell, girl!" She ran out of the hospital as fast as she could, sobbing uncontrollably.
Elisa winced as the memory formed in her head again and she pushed down the blanket she was using. Looking over to the side was a picture of her mother, father, and herself at the French Rivviera. She smiled fondly at the memory and climbed gracefully out of bed. She was drenched in sweat, guessing that she had moved around alot in her night mare and she wondered why the girls in her dormitory hadn't woken up. Sighing, she grabbed a towel and wiped off her neck. "pourquoi moi? pourquoi lui?" She said, speaking 'Why me? Why him?' in French before casting another look at the picture by her bed, wishing that could have lasted forever. Running a brush through her hair and changing out of her sweat-drenched night clothes, she watched herself in the small mirror in front of her. She looked so fragile right then and she hated that feeling. She hated when people thought she was weak and she loathed when she cried. It was just part of who she was that wanted to be strong.
She pulled a light pink tank top over her head and pulled on a pair of pink boxers. This was the type of casual clothing she wore when she didn't think she'd be seen. She left her hair the way it was, liking the way it was messy but still stunning. She tip-toed over to the window and opened it, looking outside to make sure no one was there. The last thing she wanted was for someone to find out her 'dirty little secret'. She stepped up onto the window sill and transformed to her animagus form of a blue jay. It wasn't like she couldn't just walk outside through the front door, she just didn't want to be seen and gawked at like usual. She really hated being half-veela, it was riddiculous. Elisa fluttered out the window, her wings twittering as she flew torwards the lake. If she could have expressions in her bird form she would definitely be smiling.
Elisa didn't mind being an animagus now, but back when her father was teaching her how she hated it. It was excruciatingly hard work to do it and she was young when her father had started it. He had been so paranoid for her safety that he had gone to every link to ensure she had the tools to survive, no matter how much she didn't want it. She flew over the lake and landed a large tree right next to the large water with a puff of black smoke. Her human form sat down and smiled to herself, wondering when she'd get that feeling again. But really, it was too risky to fly around as an animagus. Students would get angry if they knew. She sighed to herself and leaned against the tree, twiddling her wand which she had stowed in her waist band idly.

His thin small body moved through the early morning like no other Slytherin did. He was stumbling and silent not poised and proud. Ever since those damned girls last year had told everyone he was gay he had hated most of the girls he had met and had lost most of his friends. His pride was gone as well all of it flying out the window with the telling of him being homosexual, "Stupid bitches..." he growled in his slightly girly, but still masculine voice, "had to go and spread around that shit...I'm ruined... What if my family finds out... God i'll be dismembered from my family! I really want to break them in half all of them..." He then started down towards the lake.
Looking up at the sun which was really bright he smiled laughing lightly, but then looked down as he thought he heard something. Seeing a shadow near the lake in a tree he started over towards it, "Wonder who's out at this time of the morning..." As he came closer he saw a girl around his age near the lake, "God another girl... just someone to make fun of me even more..." And yet... and yet his body kept making him walk towards her. Shrugging and allowing his body to guide him to her he smirked and lowered the fedora on his head to his side and smiled sweetly.
"Hello miss..."

Elisa didn't know why she hadn't thought to bring her books out here, she was behind on work again and she hadn't brought them down. It only took a moment for her to realize that she could easily summon them here through the open window. Sighing, she pointed her wand up to the tower and murmured, "Accio bookbag," Summoning charms had always been something Elisa was good at and she smiled when she saw the familiar book bag soaring straight at her. She grimaced and pointed her want at it again- this time whispering, "Aresto momentum." The bag slowed down and hit the ground with a dull thud, smirking slightly to herself. She loved using her powers more then anything, it was just thrilling to see what took place. Pulling out her books she began to work on her Potions homework. The Twelve Properties of Moonstones and Their Uses. Wonderful.
Elisa looked up when her ears picked up on some mumbling. It was a guy, she realized first. She didn't exactly recognize him though, but when he saw her she saw what she always did. It didn't look like he even had a choice but to come talk to her and she sighed. The worst part of being part veela was that everyone felt drawn to you. She wished it wasn't so and she could just find a guy the normal way, by talking and flirting. Regardless, she smiled and replied, "Please, call me Elisa. You are?" Her voice was soft and melodic when she spoke and her eyes twinkled lightly at him.

When he came to a halt in front of the girl who he could see more clearly now he sighed and took in what she was doing. She was sitting and doing homework something he didn't like, but always seemed to be indulging himself with trying to hide the pain and the hatred he felt for everyone else. The only person even really in his house with his respect anymore was Kyraina. She would smile and wave at him each time he entered the commons laughing lightly as he pulled his trademark smirk.
Looking down at her potions book he smiled. He remembered this stuff from last year and knew that he could easily help her. Even though Snape always gave good grades to Slytherin's Devin had to actually do the work unlike the others because after Snape found out that his best Slytherin student was homosexually gay he had started to lower Devin's grade to almost failing. He knew it was because Snape hated that his best student could even begin to feel such things just like his parents thought. He was still a very smart student and most of the other teacher's didn't treat him any different then the rest of their students.
Looking carefully at the girl as she spoke he got this urge to hurt her. The twinkle in her eye made him want to gag because it seemed she was trying to charm him and he knew in his heart even if a piece of him still slightly liked girls that he was totally and completely gay, "Nice to meet you Elisa... my names Devin... Devin Collins... I'm a 6th a year Slytherin... but please... please... don't judge me on that...to tell you the truth..." He looks at the ground, "they consider me a disgrace besides Kyraina Smith a fifth year... if you listen to my slightly girly voice you can guess why if the rumors haven't already floated to your ear..."

Elisa really didn't mind homework, mainly because she liked to learn. Thing was, she didn't like it when it became tedious like it was today. It certainly wasn't exciting spending her nights doing the homework, but she wasn't going to gripe about it like the students always seemed to do. She had learned that things were best just to be done and not complain about it. Sighing, she continued to write on her paper, not really sure if any of it was correct. She really wasn't at all as focused as she should be, knowing that Professor Snape was a harsh grader and wouldn't accept anything that wasn't worked hard on, but at the time she just didn't care. The night air was crisp and welcoming, she was so glad that she had come outside, it was much better then the common room.
Though, the guy who had also decided to come out was ruining things a bit for her. She wanted to have some time to herself where she didn't have to worry about unintentionally charming or 'dazzling' someone. It wasn't that she was aiming to do it, it was just who she was. Just like she couldn't control the silvery glow that seemed to emmanate from her. It was so irksome to have to worry non-stop about whether things were real or not. Things had always been hard for in that respect, and she'd only met one guy that didn't seem interested in her looks. It was too bad that didn't last, though Elisa didn't see how it could have, due to the circumstances.
As she watched his face carefully she noted part of it changing and she saw anger flash across. She recoiled slightly, setting down her quill as well as her books. Elisa listened to his introduction, stifling a smirk. People who gave those kinds of introductions entertained her, where they said everything in one sitting. It often annoyed her, but she tried not to let it show. "Nice to meet you as well, Devin. Though, I must ask, what are you doing out here this late?" She asked, curiously. It was very late and Elisa was only out here because of the dream. "Oh, well, I don't judge people on their house. I mean, one of my... used to be bestfriend is in Slytherin. You lot really arren't all that bad," She said, her French accent shining through. "Oh, I don't listen to the rumors either. But they aren't rumors if they're true, are they? I take it your gay then?" Elisa was one of the few people who didn't really judge people on anything whether it be religion, beliefs, sexuality, or house. It was all the same to her. "I expect I owe you a description of myself. I'm fifth year Ravenclaw, I moved to Hogwarts from Beauxbatons, and before you ask, yes, I'm part veela."

Devin smiled lightly as she said that she didn't really judge people and nodded, "That's a relief and you don't think Slytherin's are bad? Well I guess to a point that is true... not all of us are as inhumane as it may seem at times... and yes I am fully and completely gay..." He then blushed slowly as he sat down and looked at Elisa's homework, "So your a fifth year... i would have guessed so by the potions work... I had to do that stuff last year... really had to work hard to get a good grade though. As you see well even though I am a Slytherin Snape hates the fact that the person he thought to be one of his best sixth year students is gay so he continually degrades me and lowers my grade, but well what can you do right?" Pushing his shaggy brown hair out of his face Devin smiled and looked up at the sky, "Why am I out here? Well I'm just out enjoying myself... I know it's a bit late, but hey its not like they can really catch us if we're careful right? Anyways Ky's got my back she has a decoy out for me..." He then carefully sighs looking over at the girl next to him, "I had a feeling you might be a Veela or at least part otherwise there would be almost no way i could be attracted to you... please don't take offense to that its not that your not gorgeous cause hun you are beautifully gorgeous its just well ya i'm not into girls..."
