WHEN THE WORLD COMES CRASHING DOWN
WHOS READY TO PARTY?[/color][/font]
Tonight was going to be awesome. Adelaide
and one of her best friends Tonie were fashionably
late, and Addy looked stunning. As she walked
down the staircase descending down to the
Great Hall, she felt the eyes on her. Of course
they didn't know who this petite Hufflepuff was
tonight. She smiled confidently after her brief
wave of shyness washed over. Her dress, her
earrings, even she looked stunning. As she
walked gracefully into the Great Hall, she looked
at all of the beautiful gowns. Usually she felt that
she fell short of the other girls, but tonight she
didn't. Her dress was lovely, one of a kind too.
Usually Addy wasn't this confident, but tonight
she decided to be.
Adelaide chatted with a few people who she
actually knew, basically her roommates since
she had seen their dresses. After bidding them
goodbye, she headed over to the table where
the refreshments were. Although the corset-
laced back of her dress wasn't really tight,
it was a bit uncomfortable. Taking a crystal
glass cup she let the magical ladle pour some
into her cup and she took a sip. After she was
finished, she adjusted her silver mask and brushed
a stray lock of her curls away from the nape of
her neck. She had her wand stashed in underneath
her dress so she could fix her hair if it happened to
come out.
Adelaide smiled when she heard a song from one of
her favorite wizard bands. As she rushed over to the
crowd, she met up with some of the girls that she
was talking to earlier and started to dance with them.
A laugh escaped her lightly pink stained lips as she
moved. This was going to be a lot of fun. When the
song was over, it was a slower song, one for couples.
A slight frown came to Addy's face. She had came alone
without a date. Like she needed one anyways, but
still it'd be nice to have someone to dance with. She
scanned the crowd, and then found her lips twisting
into a confused grimace. It'd be better if she knew who
she'd actually want to dance with. First she'd see
if anyone would ask her. If not on the next dance she'd
ask someone. It was as simple as that. Addy didn't want
to look like a lonely little wall flower though. She went
back over to where she set her glass cup down and went
to get another drink. She scanned the crowd once more
before taking a drink. For a moment she wondered where
Tonie had gone. The two girls had come in together, but
she didn't know where her friend had gone off to. Oh well,
Adelaide was going to have a fun night. Hogwarts only
had one ball per year, and she wasn't going to waste it.
Especially not in this gorgeous outfit. Her grandmother
didn't lend her these earrings not to show them off.
For a moment, Addy's hand drifted up to the old earrings,
carefully running her fingers over the hard texture
of it. She wanted to be careful since they had been in
her family since the 1500's.
