No, she was beyond excited. Taking in a deep breath, she finished letting her hair dry from the breeze blowing in from the window and closed it. A soft laugh escaped her lips as she saw the few leaves that had fluttered in from the ground. Although they were on the ground floor, it didn't mean they were underground. Taking a breath of the still crisp air from outside, she walked over to her wardrobe and pulled out a white garment bag out of it. She didn't want anyone to see her dress until she got it on. The only ones who had seen the dress was her younger sister, Harper and she wouldn't tell a soul. As she walked over to her vanity, she grabbed her mask still in the protective case it had came in, her shoes, a small little velvet box with her earrings in it and of course her make-up bag. As she headed in the opposite direction to go off to Tonie's room, she rolled her eyes and hurried back to get her wand.
When she reached Tonie's dormitory, she set the heavy bag down on her bed along with her shoes. Addy took her other belongings and sat them on the vanity in the middle of the room. She yawned softly and looked around for her friend. "Tonie?" she asked. Addy shrugged and figured she was probably in the bathroom still drying her hair or something. Addy planned to curl her hair elegantly and do her make-up simple yet stunningly. It was good to have so many cousins and have a few of them who were hair dressers in the muggle world. That's who Addy had learned all her beauty tips from. A smile spread on her face as she ran her fingers over the garment bag. She was extremely excited for tonight. It would be great.
Addy unzipped it to look at the beautiful gown. Her grandmother was a seamstress and made it for her during the summer. Since she was a witch, she had it done within a matter of days, but still. Addy loved it. The deep blue was stunning against her fair complexion and the beading was intricate and beautiful. She had always preferred a strapless dress, since it made her torso seem longer since she was pretty short. It was alright with her, the shortness gene ran in the family. Her mother was only about a inch taller than her. As she sat on Tonie's bed, she zipped the bag up and waited for her friend. She tucked a lock of her straight, raven black hair behind her ear and hummed absent- mindedly as she waited.

- - - why did it take so long to look perfect? well who knows? especially with girls. a dainty body slipped out of the shower in the hufflepuff fifth year dormitory and wrapped themselves in a blue towel then dried themselves down before sliding into a fluffy dressing down and returning to her dorm. she smiled at her roommate who was already getting her dress out of the wardrobe. aftonie nodded in consent and then moved over to her dressing table where she pointed her wand at her hair and muttered some words under her breath. within the blink of an eye her was wet hair was a dry as it had been all day. she then used the muggle alternative of braiding a bit of her hair and leaving the rest curly. perfect.
"Tonie?" she heard her name called once and turned around quickly in her chair is see addy on the dressing table opposite. "im here you ninny." she sprung up from her chair giggling and skipped over to her friend. "how's it going chickadee? excited? i bloody am." she giggled again and took a bit of addy's hair into her own slender fingers and began to twirl in over and over. "could you do my make-up? please?" she whined "ive already done my hair... obviously. but i'd rather you did my make-up." she made her expression puppy-dog like and begging waiting for her friend to come round.
tonie suddenly remembered she'd left her earrings in the bathroom and disappeared back through the door and emerged again to see addy sat with her dress on her own bed. it was beautiful. "wowie. its gorgeous! i'll get mine." she half-ran to the wardrobe and pulled out a silky gold dress and a pair of golden shoes to match. "what do you think?"

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - I CAN PLAY A LITTLE TOO ROUGH NOW & AGAIN - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Addy heard soft footsteps across the room, but noticed it was only Tonie's roommate. Where in the world was she? Taking in a breath, she ran her fingers through the ends of her shiny, raven black hair. After she slipped her dress on she planned to curl it in perfect ringlets, and pin her bangs back so they'd be out of her way. As she unzipped her garment bag fully, she ran her fingers over the silky material of it. Addy's head bobbed up when she heard her friend call to her. A soft laugh escaped her lips. "Oh, sorry, I didn't see you there."she said, watching Tonie skip over to her.
An amused smile was plastered on her face as Tonie took a lock of her hair and twirled it around. "It's going great, I'm so excited."she said as she looked over to the vanity in the middle of the room. She still had her make-up and her hair to do. At least it was easy for her to do all this with magic. Addy looked over to Tonie's puppy dog face and giggled softly. "Of course, you have to ask?"she said giggling again and fixed the shirt that she was wearing. She wore only a shirt and some jeans since it was Saturday and they were going to the ball later on tonight. Addy loved dances and the like, so she was very excited for this little event. She didn't have a date, but she didn't need one.
"Thanks, my aunt made it."Addy said smiling, watching her friend snatch a gold silky dress out of the wardrobe with matching shoes. " Oh, that's beautiful, you're going to look stunning!" she said, smiling widely. Addy got up from the bed and pulled her dress out of the garment bag. "Alright, I'm gunna go put this on, but you're going to have to help me with the strings."she said as she walked towards the bathroom. In a few minutes she came with the gorgeous deep blue dress on. The back was undone still since it was a corset, all Tonie had to do was pull the strings tighter. Luckily her aunt wasn't a fan of being not able to breathe, so only a tug or two would be good. As she walked in the room, the dress fanned out around her in a small bell shape. "Taa-da!" she said smiling as she spun around in a little circle. "Okay, all you have to do is pull the top strings pretty tight, and that'll be good."she said, making her back face Tonie. Tonight would be very fun, and she was glad they were having it. What made it even more fun was that it was a masquerade ball, and no one would know who you were unless you either told them or they saw you get ready. Addy braced against the post of her four-poster bed so she could tighten the strings. Luckily, she was thin enough that it didn't need to be tightened. As she looked down at her feet that protruded out from underneath the dress, she frowned. Her dress was dragging, so she'd put her shoes on soon. Good thing there was a charm that made the pains of wearing heels disappear or she would've had to stick with flats.

- - - "It's going great, I'm so excited."
tony grinned toothily and did a strange sort of retarded dance and a excited noise that sounded like a cat being strangled. although quite amusing to watch it did put across her excitement. but the whole thing did look very spastic. "oh my god i know right. im so fricking excited." as addy agreed to do her make-up tony smiled and gave addy a quick hug around her shoulders. "thank you thank you thank youuu." she half squealed. she squished up next to her friend on the stood of the dressing table then said, slightly more high pitched than usual "let's gooooo."
"Thanks, my aunt made it."
tony's jaw dropped with shock "woah... how?" peoples handy-work had always been admired by the young miss altoft, she just wishes she could do stuff like that. however, like at a lot of things, she failed. she then looked back at her dress, she wished one of her family had made hers. it would make it so much more special. she frowned slightly and then shook it off. who was she kidding, her dress was gorgeous and a silly thing like her thoughts weren't going to ruin tonight. no way.
as addy disappeared into the bathroom to pull on her dress tony locked the door as all her roommates had already gone to the hall. but addy and tony would be fashionably late, obviously. but more people would be there to see them arrive then. after the lock of the door clicked tony skipped back across to her bed and pulled off her own clothes and picked up her dress and pulled it onto her recently tanned body. she'd had a holiday in spain over the summer so her ususally pale skin had a natural looking and healthy glow. which made her gold dress give the illusion of it glistening. she was just doing up the zip at the side under her arm when addy emerged from the door. "its gorgeous and your even more gorgeous!" she squealed and ran across to her friend, the gold silk material flowing behind her.
"Okay, all you have to do is pull the top strings pretty tight, and that'll be good."
she nodded and pulled out her wand. it was easier this way. she gave her wand a small flick and it pulled the top laces tight and steady "tight enough?" she asked before she bowed them at the top just to make sure. tony then looked around and noticed she'd left her shoes on the bed next to her own. she picked up the hem of her dress and sat on the bed and pulled on the strappy shoes, fatsening them carefully. they'd cost almost as much as the dress. and that was quite a lot.
- - - outfit: clickyy. a bit better than the last xD im sure you'll agree. but still not my best.

Adelaide was very, very much excited to get down to the ball. She was practically jumping in her skin, but she was trying to keep calm. The only hint of this was her faster than normal movements and the huge smile that was plastered on her face. As she opened the make-up bag that she brought with her, it transformed into a large box that held shades of eyeshadow of every color along with eyeliner and the like. She smiled over at Tonie and decided to explain. "The same aunt that made me my dress gave this to me for Christmas, she's very beauty oriented if you couldn't tell."she said laughing as she picked a golden shade to accent with her dress. Of course Addy would wait just a few minutes until she finished her hair was done, then she'd get going on Tonie's make-up.
"Oh well, it was easy since she's a professional, I know I would've never been able to make it, but I love it."Addy said smiling. She was glad her aunt had agreed to make her the dress. Since Addy was her favorite niece, she had already told her that she was going to make her wedding dress for her. Although that was along time off now, she was still excited to have it. As she came back out of the bathroom, she saw Tonie in her dress. A smile came to her face as she saw her running towards her. She looked excellent. "You look so gorgeous in that!"she said, squealing. Addy couldn't help it she was extremely excited and smiled wider when she got complimented. As she looked at herself in the full-length mirror, she saw how wonderfully the dark blue contrasted against her pale skin. Although she had become tan over the break, it had faded recently.
Addy gripped the pole for support as she felt them tighten by Tonie's wand. "Yep, thank you."she said smiling as she stepped away and walked back over to the vanity. It fit comfortably snug, not too loose and not too tight. Adelaide looked at herself in the mirror, picked up the velvet case that held her earrings in them an put them in. They were stunning, and they had been passed down. Addy felt very lucky to have first a gorgeous, one of a kind dress and antique earrings. She smiled as she fixed her hair how she wanted it with her wand. It half-up and half- down, and curled elegantly. Usually she would've left it down, but she really wanted to show off her earrings. As she turned back to Tonie she smiled. "Alright, come sit down here, lets get started on your make-up."she said patting the chair in front of the desk.

- - - "The same aunt that made me my dress gave this to me for Christmas, she's very beauty oriented if you couldn't tell."
tony's jaw dropped at the amount of different make-up adyy owned. she, of course, had the usual, foundation, blush, eyeshadow and eyeliner. but she never kept more than one shade at a time. "your one lucky girl to have a auntie who'll do that for you." she giggled and started to pull things out at random. having a good look at them before placing them carefully back into the bag. she could have been entertained for hours usually, but tonight was the ball, and that seemed to occupy her mind a little more than make-up.
"Oh well, it was easy since she's a professional, I know I would've never been able to make it, but I love it."
tony nodded and grinned at the dress. she was simply in awe at all the beautiful dresses that she'd seen already. and that was only three. her room mates and the one that was in front of her. but addy's was by far the prettiest she'd seen. the ruffles were a risk on a ball gown, as you could easily have gone over the top. however, there was just the right amount and perfectly spread apart in the right places. tony had decided to go for a simple dress, she didn't know why exactly. but it fitted and looked the best in the shop. tony was never very good at shopping. very strange for a girl her age.
as addy came out the bathroom she squealed. tony was simply past squealing now and couldnt help but just beaming from ear to ear constantly as though she was on stage and couldn't afford to let her smile slip. except one thing hung in the back of her mind, nerves. although tony was a half-veela she probably showed more traits of being a human, she wasn't exactly outgoing, she got nervous a lot and was generally very shy and modest about everything. veela's were infact the exact opposite, what with their bum wiggling and hair flicking. tony just wasnt girly enough to live up to her blood status.
"Yep, thank you."
tony gave a casual flick of her wand and the laces tied into a neat bow. she gave all the laces a once over to make sure everything was perfect. noticeing one was twisted she adjuested it carefully and stepped back. "no worries my dear." tony then wandered over to her bed and sat down with her feet up. watching addy do her hair in an elegant half-up half-down do before she turned around and beckoned her to the dressing table. still smiling tony rushed over and sat down next to addy ready and waiting for make-up. "i dont mind what you do. go with the flow, okay?" she winked at addy.
