Miss Willis,
I appreciate you writing to me as an answer to your queries. Although you do ask some interesting questions, questions which I would hardly expect from a Gryffindor such as you.
Your first question, of the Marauders is a particularly interesting one, especially from the view of a historian such as myself. Many groups of wizard and witches have masqueraded under the title of the Marauders. No less than twelve groups of marauders have existed in wizarding history. Although I'd assume you'd be referring to our latest batch, I am of course referring to those that graced the very same corridors of Hogwarts as you not long ago. I must say I'm not extremely knowledgeable about this group of young wizards. The very little I can tell you is that the group seemed to serve for the members' own needs rather than for anyone else. They took particular pride in their ability and skill, choosing to flaunt their attributes in comical ways. Do not misunderstand me, they were very skilled wizards and had need be, they would surely defend someone who was worthy of being defended. This part of history is that of when the Marauders were at Hogwarts, after that I'm not so knowledgeable, of course I'm sure you're aware that the members have gone in different ways. May I ask in return why it is that you seek facts about these groups?
As for your second question Miss Willis, it has become common fact that the term pure-blood will soon have no need. There are very very few families that can truly state that they have 'pure-blood'. My knowledge of particular family names associated with pure-blood may not be of much use to someone who seeks facts about current families. Firstly, I focus my studies upon the history of magic from the dawn of time up until a century ago. I do know main facts about our current century but it is not so important, not until it fits into a wider stream of fact. Secondly, as I have mentioned pure-blood families are rare at the present time, and as a result it is hard to follow backgrounds of such families. I must conclude Miss Willis, this question worries me. You must not concern yourself with the issue of blood it is neither important or a way of intimidation.
